FOR PARTICIPATING INSTRUCTORS

1. Outside of class responsibilities
(all covered by stipend)
Meet with instructional partners
about once a week
Participate in Forums with
campus learning community participants about three or four times per semester
Meet with Director & Instructional
Specialist occasionally- as necessary
Meet with SI leaders - asa necessary
2. Book keeping/Reporting
Verbally report on progress at
monthly forum or in a brief e-mail report with an emphasis on what is
going well and what isn’t
3. Activities covered by stipend:
Collaborate with colleagues
Participate in Forums
designed to improve Learning Communities and related pedagogic strategies
Meet with groups of students outside
of class and office hours
Participate in Bridge staff
development activities, forums and meetings
Attend linked class of learning
community
Develop curriculum (if needed)
4. Benefits
Micro Grants: Stipend (see
below) and funds for travel, participation in workshops, instructional
supplies

5. Best bets for learning communities
are instructors who are:
Full-time faculty
Enjoy exploring new ideas
Have an interest in developing
non-lecture activities for their classes
Would enjoy collaborating on course
content
6. Stipend Schedule: (subject to available funds)
$750 for first Learning Community
$500 for veterans for their first time doing a theme or working with a new partner
$250 for repeat Learning Communities
$250 bonus for adjunct faculty
