BRIDGE PROGRAM- STAFF JOB DESCRIPTIONS

DIRECTOR
Manage Bridge Program activities including budget,
mandated reports, and program evaluation
Collaborate with other staff to develop Bridge
components such as Learning Communities, and Supplemental Instruction
Facilitate meetings, Forums and staff development
activities
Recruit instructors and students for Learning Communities
Act as program spokesman and advocate
Oversee implementation of technology and web based
activities
PARTICIPATING INSTRUCTOR
Teach Learning Community classes or implement other
new instructional and assessment strategies
Collaborate with colleagues in Learning Communities
and Forums
Develop new classroom or assessment materials
Meet and work with students outside of class
and office hours
Participate in other staff development activities
Describe activities locally, regionally or nationally
COALINGA INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST
Develop curriculum for Focused Interest Group seminars
Teach Focused Interest Group seminars when appropriate
Lead development of Quality Circles approach
Contribute to development of Supplemental Instruction
(SI) Plan
Collaborate with Supplemental Instruction Co-ordinator
in training Student SI Leaders
LEMOORE INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST
Recruit Participating Instructors
Oversee Lemoore scheduling activities
Develop flyers and web based information for Learning
Communities
Contribute to planning for District-wide forums
and staff development activity
Act as resource to other instructors with regard
to Learning Communities
Collaborate with director and other Bridge participants
SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION CO-ORDINATOR
In collaboration with Director and Instructional
Specialist develop operational plan for Supplemental Instruction (SI)
Recruit and train student SI Leaders
Co-ordinate, monitor and oversee activities of student
SI Leaders
Lead SI sessions
Develop and maintain SI program records including
student time-cards and session information
Develop and maintain record of student participation
in Supplemental Instruction for use in program evaluation
Participate in development of Quality Circle approach
Conduct Quality Circles with students
Integrate Bridge learning concepts into SI efforts
Participate in staff development activities and
participate in Forums
Assist students in micro-classes and group tutoring
STUDENT SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION LEADERS
Conduct SI Sessions
Participate in Quality Circles designed to improve
quality of Supplemental Instruction
Maintain records of SI sessions
Participate in related Bridge activities
SECRETARY
Carry out full range of Bridge secretarial
duties
Collect and enter data for program evaluation
Develop computer based materials for Bridge
publicity
