Guidelines for Writing Supplementary Paper. Optional Assignment: if completed satisactorily with a grade of B or better, this paper will serve as substitute for one midterm for purposes of raising final term grade to a maximum grade of of C. Due by December 15.

Week of December 12

Final Exam on Tuesday, December 13 at 9:00 AM:

The Final Exam will cover the material from all of the material covered in the lectures:
About 80% of the test questions will be multiple choice and based based on material from the "Quiz Preparation Materials" or material covered in the three study guides. Up to about 20% of the questions will involve graphing  related to some of the following:

The Production Possibility Frontier
Market Supply and Demand
Application of Market Supply and Demand to Issues such as Price Ceilings/Floors, Externalities etc
Industrial Organization and the Firm (not much of this)

Graphing relates mainly to supply and demand, including price ceilings and floors and externalities. There are a couple of questions related to the Production Possibilities
Frontier, but there are no graphing problems related to costs and revenues of the firm (the materials covered in Chapters 13-17).

The Final is comprehensive, but is weighted toward the material that we covered in the First and Third midterm. More specifically, here are the chapters covered by the Final Exam
questions. I also indicate about what percentage of the test relates to those chapters.

Chapters 1,2,4,6             50%
Chapters 10,11,19, 20   40%
Chapters 13-15               10%

Please note, I will draw extensively from the "Quiz Preparation Materials" for the exam but I may reword the questions. The questions may be similar to ones included in the "Quiz Preparation Materials" but not identical.  In preparing for the exam, please concentrate on understanding and being familiar with the ideas. Please don't try to simply memorize all of the questions and answers.

REMEMBER TO BRING A SCANTRON         `
