FORMING LEARNING COMMUNITIES:
THE SEQUENCE OF BRIDGE ACTIVITIES


 
 

1. Bridge Director visits Departmental meetings and sponsors flex meetings to describe Learning Communities

2. Bridge Newsletter and e-mails Call for Learning Community Proposals

3. Interested faculty review Faculty Learning Community Handbook on Bridge website

4. Faculty propose Learning Communities:  Complete and submit a Learning Community Proposal Form

5. Proposals reviewed and aaproved by Learning Community Steering Committee

6. Faculty notified of acceptance

7. Faculty review and sign Learning Community Micro Grant/Stipend Agreement

8. Participating Faculty, Director, Instructional Specialist and Deans develop scheduling proposal prior to beginning of regular scheduling process

9. WHC Schedule of Classes completed

10. Faculty prepare block of text to describe Learning Community for flyer

11. Bridge Staff prepare flyers for marketing

12. District counselors use materials to recruit High Schools

13. Bridge Staff Visit College classes to recruit students.
